The Ravenna Second String Orchestra This orchestra of about twenty five members is on the intermediate level and provides a rewarding way to improve your ensemble playing. It’s a little easier than the Ravenna String Orchestra. There are no auditions, and all ages are invited to join. We have fun while preparing for the short concerts at the end of the quarter. The music is chosen from arrangements of average difficulty or compositions written for intermediate players. To see a recent program go to the Updates page. Judy Drake is the conductor and Lorraine Hughes is the co-director and pianist. The Seattle Parks and Recreation Department sponsors the orchestra. Rehearsals are on Monday evenings, 7:15 - 8:15, at the Ravenna-Eckstein Community Center, 6535 Ravenna Ave. NE, Seattle. The cost is $75 per session. Please bring a stand.
